Description of 1993 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U2450L/38 |
1993 Unimog U2450L/38 Here is your chance to own one of the nicest Unimogs available, and an extremely rare Unimog with a factory automatic transmission. The transmission was manufactured by Twin Disc in Racine,WI for Mercedes-Benz. This was a factory option, not an aftermarket conversion. The transmission is a 6-speed in which both 5th and 6th gear are overdrive. It cruises at 65 MPH at 2,000 engine rpm. Top speed is 83 MPH, not that I recommend that speed in a Unimog. This would be the perfect Unimog chassis on which to mount a camper body. No expense was spared in maintaining and refurbishing this Unimog. The bed was stripped, zinc plated, powder coated and the Rhino-lined. The cab has a full set of tinted glass including the windshield. It includes aWerner F.70 2H HW winch, with 90m of 13mm steel cable. Rated 5,123 DaN. The winch has been completely restored. It also includes aSauer PVG-32 electric proportional solenoid valve operated by Warn wireless remote, or normal Warn wired hand controller. Also manual control on the winch. The cab has a Greentob GmbH in-dash air-conditioner and new Mercedes cab floor pads. Dynamat sound insulation, fiberglass heat insulation, on floor of cab and firewall. I have another identically built Unimog, sequentialVIN number to this one,available for purchase also along with many other Unimogs. I also have a Doka (crewcab) body that could be mounted on this chassis for an additional fee if needed. Basic specs on the Unimog itself: Mercedes U2450L38 - 437.136 series Wheelbase - 3.85m Weight - 15,520 lbs (with spare rim and tire, without winch) Engine - 240 H.P. 6L in-line 6 cylinder, turbo, intercooled. 356-980 series, Euro II. Rims - Lemmerz 10.00V-20 (split rims - easy to change tires unassisted) Tires - 395/85 R20 Michelin XL, one spare. Axle Ratio - 7.53 total.
