Description of 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series |
|
This 190E 2.3L 16-valve Cosworth was imported into the U.S. February 16th, 1986. Included in the sale are the original importation documentation, and strong maintenance history documentation. The "Smoke Silver" paint shows in great condition, and the black leather interior makes for a very comfortable ride. This was a flagship car for the Mercedes sport sedan market, and quickly became a fan favorite. This particular example is an automatic spec, but would be the project for a manual transmission swap. We currently have too many projects, otherwise we would perform the swap ourselves. The car is very reliable and was used for daily driver use. However there is a minor issue with the neutral safety switch. Reverse and park are not accessible once drive is engaged. The car must be turned off, switched back into park and restarted to engage reverse. Over $6K in recent service receipts. The 190E Cosworth features a straight 4-cylinder, double overhead cam, and Bosch Jetronic Fuel Injection. This W201 series Mercedes pushed roughly 185hp to the rear wheels, and was intended to be a rally car. Specifications:
