Description of 1988 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Simply couldn't be in better shape. Everything works as it should. Runs and drives 100%. A friend of mine is a retired successfulbusiness owner. He bought this car about 10 years ago from a women in Florida. He and his wife took it out a couple times a summer. Other than that it lived in a heated garage. No winter driving. Its baffling to me because of how little he drove it, but he did take it to have it serviced yearly and tune ups etc. I guess when you have money to blow. No accidents. Clear clean title. They don't use it enough and are going to put the money into a horse hauler.
There are a few companyin the US that have " a lock " on obtaining these lightlyused SLs. I have been contacted and expect they would have listed the car for $22,500. I belive I am going to be able to save the next buyer some money. I realize there are plenty of SLs that are cheaper, but when I examine them they won't give you the satisfaction of a " new " feeling used car that I'm confident this one will. It really just doesn't have the wear and tear.
Below are some notes from my usual day to day. I am happy to help anyone that is looking to buy or sell interesting items.
I hope to talk more. ~ Steve

Many times people don't have time or desire to car shop and I don't blame them.
It seems like I am able to provide a good service to folks who are replacing a wrecked or not worth fixing vehicle. I have calls from many parents that are buying cars for family members in New England for school etc.
If you are in a pinch, or simply don't have the time is when my FREE DELIVERY SERVICE comes in handy. I often deliver cars anywhere in New England / NY, Cape/ and Islands. Or I can set up shipping elsewhere. You may find it helpful to have delivery as an OPTION if you can't make it to see the car here in central MA. TEST DRIVE the car when it arrives. Please email me so I can give you more details. I will give you a few options once with talk more.
- See SMDW on my dealer plate. Those are my initials. Feel free to call Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Section 5 to verify my dealer plate is current.
- I am Bonded through Laflin Insurance as the state requires.
I'm encouraging potential buyers to do their due diligence, a few clicks will allow you to see I am a reputable seller in business since 1998.
No hidden fees which many dealerships stick in at signing. Many of my competitors cars are now advertised for too good to be true prices, and they are just that. You will find the bait and switch at some point. I mark my cars up about half as much as the big guys. I don't make profit on interest etc.
~ re: delivery please include your zip code and info on any old vehicle your looking to get rid of ( that could make the ride back to MA if need be)
A FY, You do not have to pay for the car before hand. I'm happy to say that after hundreds of cars being delivered, I have never had one come home, accomplished simply with good communication and photographs and offering a fair price. One of the many options is I may ask for a small deposit to cover some of the delivery tim, or special requests ( new tires etc). If the car arrives not as describe, you don't hand over the payment.
I have a hard time making trade ins work because I don't mark my cars up enough to play the numbers game. But still feel free to let me know what you have. Often I simply sell trade ins on consignment that puts more $ in your pocket / covers sales tax, helps you more than a trade.
For auto loans you can use your current bank. I would just have to email you a tentative bill of sale you take to them. Or if you want an online lender, DCU Auto loans are very easy.
Don't let banks tell you a car needs to be certain mileage / year etc., or send you to dealerships they are in bed with. Those are tactics used to funnel you into buying a more expensive car, in turn they make more. Its though to find nice cars and some banks have their heads in the sand.

Thanks for the interest! ~ Steve Woods
