For sale is my 1973 Mercedes 280 SEL. I have owned it over two years and have decided to sell it. Reason being is we were hit by a tornado (thankfully the car was not home at the time) and we have a third child on the way, just no time anymore. I have added and addressed the following: cleaned, etched, and sealed the gas tank, replaced the bent drivers regulator, new vacuum advance, new front windshield rubber, new carpet from German Auto Top, new trunk liner, respirated and new rubber on the floor/rocker, new HVAC control knobs, potentiometer jump, and fitted A/C to r134.What it needs and what I will do if it doesn’t sell: o-ring jump for the heater box, the valves are stuck so no heat. I began veneering the wood around the windows and defrost exits so they are in varying states of restoration (see photos). Polish the wiper trail from the windshield, install a new interior roof liner, the one now needs glued in the rear (see photo) and has a dime sized hole, and get a good pad. Mine was swept away by the tornado when the garage door got ripped off. Of course there are other things like sandblasting the headers etc but please take your time evaluating the pictures, ask me questions, and see if the car is at the price point you want. I’ve set the reserve low and I hope this goes to a true lover of W108s. I can throw in the original antenna too, the one that is on it now is simply a place holder that can power up and down so that I can put a car cover on. All locks are power locks and you will receive two keys and two key fobs. Happy bidding!
