World Class Motorcars of StLouis MO is offer a rare and spectacular edition of one of the most iconic Mercedes Benz Ever built This is a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL was originallysold new in Switzerland and imported early in its life to the US, where it was acquired by an Arizona collector in the 1990s. The car spent approximately 20 years in the state, undergoing a three-year refurbishment begun byTranscendental Finishes in Prescott and finished byCPR Classic in Fallbrook, California. The work included a color change to Silver Grey Metallic, new Light Red leather upholstery, service of its 2.8-liter inline-six and four-speed manual transmission, installation of a modifiedair conditioning system,and more. This frame off nut and bolt restoration reportedly was in excess of $150k Originally Midnight Blue (DB-904), the car was repainted in Silver Grey Metallic (DB-180) byCyril Mischler ofCPR Classic in 2014 The finish is shown up close in the gallery below along with photos of the color-matched hardtop and black soft top. The cockpit was reupholstered in Light Red (3001) leather with matching carpets, door panels, and dash trim.
