Description of 1963 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series FANTASTIC CAR, SUCH A NICE CONDITION!!!

This 1963 Mercedes-Benz 220SE is a nice driver powered by a 2.2L M127 inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual. It was stored in a warehouse for over 10 years. The car was repainted 15 years ago by a previous owner, and the finish shows some normal wear with various dings and scratches. The chrome brightwork is in good condition with no major dents or oxidation, though a few light scratches can be seen on the window surrounds and other trim pieces. Many of the chrome trim pieces are 300SE components, and the 220SE badge was removed from the trunk lid and it was installed back in place after the pictures were taken. Inside, the original red door panels and dash have a slightly darker patina than the newer upholstery on the seats. The interior provides a nice contrast against the black exterior, and the stainless door sills and chrome on the instrument bezels, trim, and door hinges looks bright. A bubble on the right side of the dash top has cracked, and there is some wrinkling on the driver’s kick panel. The original bone white steering wheel is clean but has some cracks, and the steering column, factory walnut veneers, and instrument cluster housing show wear consistent with a 53 year old interior. A Becker Mexico Cassette AM/FM radio can be seen in the dash and is a later unit produced from 1971-1980. Two aftermarket speakers have been installed on the rear shelf. The original VDO speedo and tach, along with the vertical grouping of the fuel level, oil pressure, water temp, and lights function properly. The 2,195cc M127 inline-six is matched to a 4-speed manual and was advertised as producing 118 horsepower when new. The Bosch fuel injection was swapped out at some point by the previous owner in favor of twin carbs. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced, and other work includes: bleeding of the hydraulic clutch line, and replacing of the fluid. A new battery was installed, and the oil/filter were changed. The car is said to run well, shift smoothly, and offer a comfortable ride. Clean Florida Title
