Description of 1973 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 450SL

This is a small bumper 450sl which was only produced for the U.S market in 1972 and 1973 as in 1974 it was built with the big bumpers as the U.S DOT demanded
This car was sold in California and it was serviced for many years by Stuttgart Motors in Santa Barbara California
The car is as rust free as you can possibly find with the exception of the right rear trunk area where they always collect some water n develop some rust
Floors of this car are excellent as you will see in the pictures. it is a super clean undercarriage
The engine and transmission work perfectly
A big service was performed recently
That included valve adjustment,complete tune up
Replaced all fan belts
Ac is not working, compressor doesnâ€™t pump free on
Power windows work well
Soft top canvas is in fair condition
Original color was sand beige Metallic
Front suspension subframe was replaced with the factory reinforced replacement!
Very clean body with the exception of a very poor paint job that was done years ago and paint is completely faded!The cheap paint job should be very easy for a painter to remove as it seems it was done right over the original paint without primerI wish my painters that I use in my other classic cars would not be as busy as they are asthiswouldbe an easyjob forthem!The nice thing about this year car is that is smog exempt!
