Nice driver quality 1970 Mercedes 280SE 3.5 Convertible conversion from coupe. Nice conversion job done by previous owner, the car has very good lines. I was told when I bought the car 3 years ago that it is rust free, and I have not found any rust. But I am always hesitant to claim rust free on old Mercedes. It has the correct Mercedes convertible top frame (not aftermarket), and new convertible top (approximately 1 year old). The car was partially restored about 3-4 years ago by the previous owner (amateur restoration). The exterior Black finish is a nice driver quality paint job. The previous owner also put in new tan seat covers and carpet 3 years ago as well. It is equipped with an Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, Power Brakes, and Air Conditioning. The car runs and drives well, engine runs at exactly the correct temperature, transmission shifts smoothly. The chrome is nice driver quality, the wood was refinished by the previous owner, and they put in new rubber seals throughout most of the car. I am aware of the following items not working: radio, tachometer, fuel gauge (I think that is merely the tank sensor), air conditioning. The power windows all work, but they move slowly so they need to be cleaned and lubricated. If you are looking for a very pretty, fun car to drive, this car will turn some heads. If you are looking for a restored show car, this is not the car for you. With a little elbow grease correcting a couple of small leaks and adjustments, this will be a fantastic car. I will take some photos of the undercarriage as soon as I can, and email them to interested parties. If you have any questions, please ask them. Please do not hit "Buy it Now" unless you intend to pay. Buyer will pay for actual cost of shipping.
