Description of 1980 Mercedes-Benz Other |
Rare opportunity to own a historic and nicely restored 1980 Mercedes 300 Diesel Coupe with sunroof. This 1980 Mercedes Coupe was originally sold new to Pio Pico’s grandson in southern California. It was delivered new in California and has remained in southern California since then. I am now the second owner and have spent a great deal of effort and money to revive my classic coupe. The car has 113,730 miles. We had the car repainted in a high caliber classic white (original W123 color) including the engine compartment. The bumpers and lights are original to the car and reflect the excellent and low mile status of the car. Windshield was replaced with a genuine German seal and the dash is original and in excellent condition. The seats are factory palomino/parchment and in fine condition with the exception of one small stain, with no fading or stitching coming undone, which is typically the case with these cars. The carpets are in fantastic original condition with having never been replaced. We also had a set of custom color matched coco mats made for the coupe. Headliner is excellent, un-ripped, not sagging and original from 1980. Instrument cluster has been professionally calibrated and restored and we had the original rare wood Nardi, accessory steering wheel fully restored and polished, which also comes with the car. And this Nardi wheel comes with the, difficult to find, Mercedes star horn button, not the aftermarket Nardi replacement. The door panels are original and in excellent condition, coupe only, with uncracked door panel pockets. The engine is a low mile replacement turbo 123 with all recent service and maintenance completed. Filter change, valve adjustment, and maintenance has always been cared for in a timely fashion and we also had a fully rebuilt transmission installed. We also had the original hubcap style rims restored and a set of 4, very expensive, professionally refinished matching stainless hubcaps fitted. The trunk is still in nearly unused conditional with its factory grey carpet and pristine trunk liners and a matching spare wheel and original jack. All of which are clean enough to change a flat tire without getting your hands dirty. The car is available to test drive and has a clear California title in my name and ready to be enjoyed immediately. |
