In 1986 when Mercedes Benz shipped their most powerful SL to date to the US, it cost over $48,000 and by 1987 the MSRP was $56,000. That was a lot of money in the late 1980's. To say only the rich and famous were driving them was an understatement. Not only was the 560 the most powerful it was also the most dependable out of all the SL models to date. Perfect, low mileage examples are fetching north of $55,000 as of late. This absolutely stunning rare color combo of Nautical Blue over tan hydes is a fantastic example with just a couple things needed to make it perfect. Lets start out that this comes out of long term family ownership with no inclement weather driving ever. Comes with factory hard top, working climate control and A/C, a ton of documentation and service history, owners manuals, original keys, car cover etc... The paint is original except for a repaint on the passenger side where the owner had a small run in with some wildlife. Professionally repaired with all service up to date. The tires, brakes, battery are also ready to live on. During its last hibernation, a mouse had made its way in to soft top compartment and used about a half dollar size piece of the top for his own warmth. Other than that, the car is in excellent, running, driving, stopping and shifting condition. All history and paperwork accompany the car and is ready for its new owner.
