Description of 1992 Mercedes-Benz E-Class TE 4MATIC |
Vehicle Details This is a clean and dependable car I would not hesitate to drive anywhere in the country. It gets constant comments on it's look and condition. I bought it from a collector in 2014 and have kept everything working on it. Engine runs great. Tires wear exceptionally well. I have owned three of these cars, this is the best running one. Things I have repaired: replaced fuel injection distributor, 4matic metering valve, right passenger window regulator motor assembly, radiator overflow tank, Replaced muffler and rear tailpipe section. Replaced rocker arm valve gasket, serviced sunroof assembly, Replaced center console zebrano wood, Paint is original, except for hood. If you look very closely, there is a tiny amount of checking around the left rear door handle. As I recall other repairs that have been done, I will update this section. Things that are on my list: The air handler box has a bad diaphram as a result, defroster is always flowing some air. Cruise control has an intermittent error, I don't use it much so I haven't left the car with the mechanic long enough to figure it out (it started following another repair so I don't presume it is too hard to find), there is an Intermitent ground issue that will sometimes turn off the dash lights for a short period of time. There is a small leak in the hydraulic line that runs the rear suspension and the 4 matic. I replaced one line previously, it might well be the other. I am very fond of this car, especially for travel, which is where I have used it most. I have averaged driving around 8,000 miles per year since I have owned it. A good 3/4 of that has been on the highway. Will be traveling by motorhome soon and this is not a candidate for a tow car. Time for a new home that will care for it like I have. |
