Description of 1991 Mercedes-Benz S-Class , 1 Previous Owner, Great Daily Driver!

For Sale: 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL

Up for sale is a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL in beautiful Anthracite Grey with a luxurious Palomino leather interior. This is a rare, final year W126 model, housing the powerful M103 6-cylinder engine, and extended long wheel base. Significantly fewer of these models were produced, making it a unique find compared to the more common 300SE.

As the second owner, I can attest to its excellent condition both inside and out. It has been used as a reliable daily driver, always receiving necessary maintenance and care. The car boasts a clean CarFax, proving its well-documented and accident-free history.

A wealth of recent maintenance ensures that this classic German automobile is in top running condition. The car benefits from a new exhaust system, brake master cylinder, belt tensioner/pulley and belt, tie rods, AAA battery, spark plugs, vacuum lines, brakes, tires, rotors, and bearings. It also has a fresh service, including an oil change, a new distributor cap, ignition rotor, hoses for speed regulator, door latches, overload protection relay, and a set of new Good Year tires. The A/C has been converted to the new R134 system, making this classic ready for modern times.

One of the key highlights of this 300 SEL is its collection of original items, including books, keys, a still-sealed tool kit, and untouched Mercedes first aid kit. The spare wheel/tire, also never touched, is still brand new. Additionally, the rims have been freshly powder coated, adding to the aesthetic value. Plus, the sunroof is fully functional and all glass, including the headlights, is clear and free of cracks.

One of the standout aspects of this car is the dashboard—it's in great condition with no cracks, which is a testament to the care this car has received.

Recent Service:

- $5500 Recently spent on the car to ensure it's running well.

- Serviced at a local Mercedes-Benz Dealer / A specialist in classic Mercedes.

- All new LED outside lighting installed this week.

Here's what needs to be fixed:

Despite a few minor issues, the car remains in impressive condition for its age and these are minor fixes for any classic car enthusiast.

While this classic car has been well-loved and maintained, there are a few minor imperfections due to its age. There is slight rust bubble under the rear window well (About the size of a quarter), a common issue with cars of this age, and easily treatable. Nothing underneath that I can see or aware of. The back seat leather has a crack about 2 inches long (repairable), and there are a few very minor dings on the exterior (nothing that stands out), reflecting its use as a daily driver. The back windows are not currently operational, but could be repaired by a specialist. A very easy and common repair. The stereo is alright but not original. I use a bluetooth speaker and the tablets. The rear speakers are removed but I will include them in a spare parts box as well as all the original parts for the rear window.

I am only parting with this lovely car as I've recently purchased a Mercedes Benz W116 that needs my attention (as usual). I am also picking up a Mercedes Benz CL 550 (Don't tell my wife). If you are a fan of classic Mercedes, you will not be disappointed with this superb 300 SEL. Its elegance, reliability, and historic charm truly stand out.

Here is a quick note for any enthusiast or anyone looking to get into driving a classic car. Any car you buy will require work. Even if its not disclosed (especially if its not disclosed). Most of these older cars are severely neglected and not maintained properly due to cost and availability of parts. The nice thing is this car is ready to drive. I made sure it was safe, comfortable and reliable. The few fixes can be done at your convenience. I don't think you will find a better W126 Mercedes for the price.

The tablets are not included. I will include include the brackets. New tablets can be purchased for about $50 each on Amazon :)
