Description of 1991 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class |
Here's my 1991 Mercedes 500SL with 176k miles. The car is from Virginia. It has had 22 services shown on Carfax. January 2015 the 12 hydraulic top rams have been rebuilt and installed and the POWER top works perfectly. That will ensure proper operation for years to come because the seals used are modern and better materials. The air conditioning works properly. I just installed a blower motor regulator which is common to have to do on these. The heater and rest feature works just as it should. The motor has 322 horsepower and is very quick. The car has just had new spark plugs. caps and rotors are in excellent condition. Wires are recent. The car has new air filters and a new cabin filter. The transmission shifts through all of the gears properly. I can tell the car was kept up well by the strong motor and transmission. The AMG wheels are actual AMG wheels with the proper Mercedes part number for a r129 (this body style) SL. They are wider in the rear than the front. A1294011802 and A1294012002 8 1/2 x 18 in the front and 9 1/2 x 18 in the rear. The tires have decent tread but are a bit dry. The rotors are clean and the pads are pretty thick in the front and back. The exhaust is pretty clean. The gauge cluster is operating properly. ABS light comes on sometimes. The wipers and horn work properly. The windows work properly and when the top is going up and down just as they should. The roll bar works properly. The car has a CD player stereo that is working. Even the power antenna works. The lights work and fog lights work. There is a vacum leak for the power locks but they will lock and unlock with the key. The motor stays nice and cool. The clutch fan and belt are working properly. The car is alot of fun to drive. In seconds the top is down and with great power your are off! The project to rebuild the top rams costs more than the asking price of the car. There are scratches. chips. dings all around. The drivers side has a key scratch down the side. The interior is decent. The car runs and drives strong. The battery is small but newer and the alternator regulator has been changed to ensure it charges that battery up nice. The bottom is pretty clean except where the tow hook has been pulled a bit too hard so I will say frame for that. The title is clean and from VA. The car is a fun spring toy. Enjoy the pictures and move quick because this is a STEAL!!!! The pictures below show the work being done that is mentioned in the ad. New York State Residents must be a Dealer to bid (wholesale) since this car is a fixer upper and I won't be sending it through a New York State Inspection. |
