Description of 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series E |
1986 Mercedes 300e in Nautical Blue Metallic over Palomino Leather. Title is in my name, car has current smog certificate. Vehicle Details Car is located in Spring Valley, California 91978. Approximately 20 minutes east of downtown San Diego. For sale is a 1986 Mercedes 300e / w124 chassis. I purchased this car two years ago from the original owners. This car was originally sold in Illinois and never driven in the winter. In 1993 the owners moved to the Palm Springs, California area and that is where the car lived until 2022. This car is 100% rust free. The car is Nautical Blue Metallic over Palomino leather interior. The current mileage sits at 106k which approximately 1500 miles I have added. The mileage is correct and backed up by service records and carfax. All dial gauges, odometer and trip odometer are fully functional including the clock. The exterior is the original Nautical blue with goldfish pinstripes. The paint overall looks very good. The hood, roof and trunklid do have some clearcoat checking. The RH passenger fender has a small dent which has not gone through the paint. Overall very nice for it's age and extremely presentable. The previous owners had the head gasket replaced due to oil seepage which is a common m103 issue. They also had installed a new fuel distributor and for installed. There is also a stack of other older invoices for services performed. This car starts up smoothly whether it's dead cold outside or heat soaked. The motor runs very smooth and has excellent power. The transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. The interior is in very good shape for it's age with some of the normal 124 issues. The wood shifter bezel does have 2 cracks, both sun visors are working but the driver does not sit fully flush. Both seats are fully functional from the switches. The driver outer seat Bolster shows minor wear and the carpet next to the gas pedal shows wear. The air conditioning and heater work well. The recirculation vaccum pod is not functional which is a very common issue. The sunroof opens/ closes smoothly and the tilt function does work. I have disconnected the cruise control module due to it having failing capacitors and not working properly. Since purchasing this car I have installed / had the following work performed. -New radiator ( old one was 23 years old) -New Michelin Tires -RH rear wheel hub / bearing - Standard tune up / oil change -headlight bezels If you're interested or have additional questions or need more pictures please message me. I am well versed in these cars and can answer almost any questions you have. I can also send a link to a Google photos album with a couple hundred pictures. |
