Description of 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series

*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#* 1983 Mercedes Euro Spec 300D 4-Speed Manual *#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#Up for sale is my 1983 Mercedes-Benz Euro 300D. It has the reliable OM617 5-Cylinder motor and it's mated to a four speed manual tranmission (a combination never sold on American soil). Everything on the car works as it should. A little history about the car. It was purchased 1983 in Germany and brought to the United States in 1985 by Dr. Joerg-Uwe Richter and Mrs. Gladys Richter. Dr. Richter was a career economist/diplomat at the World Bank till he passed in 2009 at age 69. upon which his beloved car was put up for sale. The car lived in Bethesda. MD (stone throw from Washington D. C) till it was sold in 2009. There were 2 previous owners before me. and I purchased the car on March 1. 2013. It has been a wonderful car so far. and I've done some work to make it even better. Here is a list of everything I've done in my log book:-3/1/13 204. XX milesPurchased3/28/13 205. XXX milesOil and filter changeValve adjustmentMain and aux fuel filters change1/22/15 223. XXX milesOil and filter change. The car is in great condition. The paint is original condition and it looks like it was garage kept most of the time. It has a few scratches and dents. but that is expected for a 32 year old car. It also has some rust spot in the usual spots for a W123. but nothing too crazy. The car has the sought after short European bumpers and adjustable headlights on the dash. Another cool feature is the standard fire extinguisher that came with the European cars. It is located at the the front bottom of the driver's seat. It still has a seal on it that says "1983". The interior is cloth. which I love. But I love sheep skin seats better. so both front and back seat are covered in brown sheep skin. All lights and switches work exactly as they should in the car. Gear changes are smooth and easy and so is the power steering. The car has an aftermarket radio with USB. Aux jack. Ipod connectivity and CD player. This radio happens to be customizable with colors and sound mixes. I also have the original radio. if you want it. Because this car is a European spec car. it has the antenna in the front and it is manual. Other things manual in the car are windows. Anyone that has owned an American spec W123 knows how annoying the power windows can be. You don't have to worry about that here. As far as drivability. this car drives straight and true on the highway. I commute with it in the summer 70miles one way with no issues. I keep her at 65-70MPH on the highway. but she has been past that a few times and did just fine. &*&*&**&*&*&*&*&*&*& Euro VIN: WBD1231901F054663 &*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&**#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*# Call (301)-452-0840 *#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*On Apr-18-15 at 05:36:16 PDT. seller added the following information:*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#* 1983 Mercedes Euro Spec 300D 4-Speed Manual *#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#Up for sale is my 1983 Mercedes-Benz Euro 300D.
