Description of 1952 Mercedes-Benz Other |
1952 MERCEDES BENZ 170 Da DIESEL BEING RE-LISTED DUE TO NON PAYING BIDDER. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IMPORT EXPORT LAWS BEFORE YOU BID IF YOUR PLANNING ON SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF THE USA. This is a very very rare car. I don't think you will be able to find another one for sale in the USA anywhere. They were not offered for sale in the US. She is a 1952 Mercedes 170Da (commonly refer to it as just the 170D) Do some research on them if your not familiar with them you will not be disappointed. I have only been able to locate 3 of them in the US (none of the others were diesel this was the only one) Out of the 3 i could find i bought 2 of them. My original plan was do to a full restore on one of them this one I wanted to do a restomod taking a new AMG Mercedes and replacing the body with this one. However I have had it a couple of years now and have not been able to get started. I originally bought it from a man who was in his late 60's. his father had recently passed away and the 52 Mercedes was one of them in his collection. He was not interested in any of the vehicles like his father was so was selling off the collection. I had purchased it about 2 years ago. when I purchased it believe it or not he told me the engine ran about 4 years before that. I did check it out and the engine is free and will turn it is NOT locked up. I have included a video below to show you that. I am sure with some work you can get it running again. This also discouraged me from doing the resto-mod. with the engine possibly being able to start I could bring myself to take it out these are just far to rare. It will need a complete restoration as you can see below. I hope the buyer of the Mercedes enjoys these cars as much as me and builds it for themselves. It is an auction however and I don't chose the buyer your bid does. even purchased strictly as an investment there is money to be made. You may have to spend $40. 00-$50. 00 to to a complete high end top dollar bolt off restoration but when finished you will have a car you can easily clear $100. 00 on. at the right auction that number could just be getting started. How many investments can you find out there today with that kind of return. even at half my estimate it is still better ROI than even most real estate investments in today's market. With this type of vehicle its really hard to describe to you here which is why I have included 130 pictures below and a video. I'm not trying to hide anything with this car there is no reason to I'm showing you everything i can I have pictures of every angel of the car I can think of top bottom underneath inside outside motor etc. I included some picture of other parts and trim pieces I have that come with the car. I know its hard to purchase a project car like this and really know what your getting into. so I tried hard to show you every thing I could. I do have more pictures and higher resolution if you would like to see anything in in particular on the car just let me know if I don't already have a pictures I will take some for you. I also need to let everyone know this vehicle does not come with a title it is being sold on a bill of sale only. In Michigan I know a title can be obtained for it with the bill of sale and a surety bond on the vehicle. I do not know the laws of every state in regards to what is required please check with your local state to find out what would be required. I am willing to help you out with any paperwork I can provide you if you wish to obtain one. If your decision to purchase depends on this please find out before you bid. If you have any questions you can contact me here on eBay or give me a call or text at 248-747-2196. The vehicle is sold as is where is buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping. I can give you numbers to some shippers I have used in the past I've had good luck using uship before too. Do not hesitate to give me a call to ask any questions before placing your bid. I welcome and encourage you to come see it before placing your bid. I ask anyone with under 10 feedback to call me before you bid. if you do not your bid will be removed it is the only fair way to do it for everyone. I do have it listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end auction early due to local sale (I usually ask anyone interested to check it out and bid on ebay instead of selling it outright in the last 5 years I've only done it once). It is a NO RESERVE auction that means if your highest bidder is the new owner. Deposit is must be made within 24 hours of winning bid no exceptions deposits are non refundable. Full payment is required within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made. Example; you don't have time off work till the next weekend that is not a problem as long as you let me know. Deposit can be paid over paypal. Full balance you can pay cash in person upon pick up. bank to bank wire transfer. no personal checks but will accept certified or cashier checks if paying by check the funds MUST clear before you can pick it up.
