Description of 1970 Mercury Marauder

1970 Mercury Marauder X-100 in Medium Brown exterior and Medium Ginger vinyl interior. 429 4-V and C-6 auto with 2. 75 gears. Car has been in Georgia its entire life. I bought it last year around this same time as a project. Since then I've been collecting parts and doing a little bit here and there. I'm getting ready to put my house on the market so sadly the car has to go. As many say. my loss your gain. The car was driven from the previous owner to my house where it has sat in my garage for the last year. It starts up. runs. and shifts like it should. The previous owner said the engine had been rebuilt but I never pulled the valve cover or pan to verify. No sounds. smoke. or any issues accept fuel lines and carb need to be cleaned out. Car will hesitate a little if you floor it but shifts into passing gear with no problems. Recent owner stated vehicle has been repainted and its a driver quality job. I recently began working on the interior by replacing the carpet and putting on new wheels and tires. I have the original 4 plus spare Kelsey Hayes wheels with trim rings. So what does the car need?Steering and interior: It needs a thorough going through and freshening up. The steering is sloppy but I have purchased Moog steering components (tie rod ends. ball joints. and idler arm). I've also purchased a rebuilt steering box from Summitt. In addition. I've bought new window switches and seat switch. The drivers window didn't go up or down and the switch is where I was going to start but the motors are readily available too. The seat goes up and down but not back and forth. I've also got pristine armrest pads in the correct color. Original interior with seam coming loose on drivers seat. Headliner looks good and absolutely no cracks in the dash. Gauges. idiot lights. dash lights. heater. and wipers work. A/C does not work. belt was taken off prior to my ownership so unknown why. Note: in the pictures and video you'll notice items such as horn ring and sill plate missing. I have those items just didn't get around to putting them back on. Also. I have two additional X-100 badges to replace the broken one. Body: Some very minor dings. The most noticeable is a dimple in the hood where previous owner had too long of a carburetor stud and it hit the hood. Everyone is going to ask about rust. The only rust I can find is under the vinyl roof near the back window. I took pictures to show this area. Otherwise good to go as far as rust goes. All glass is good except front windshield has minor defect and very slight wiper blade marks (only at the bottom and not all the way across). Depending on level of repair can leave as is or get a replacement. Like I said. paint is good for a driver and looks really good for 70's brown. If you're a Mercury fan or simply want something different this is the car for you. Not a lot to get it road ready and a lot of car for the money. Vehicle is located in the metro-Atlanta area and available for inspection. Being sold as-is without any type of warranty. Georgia is a non-title state for a vehicle this old. Therefore. you will receive a bill of sale and signed Georgia registration that is then taken to your DMV depending on the title laws of your state. I've sold several vehicles and never had any issue or negative feedback. Don't be afraid to submit offers. all I can say is no. Thank you and Merry Christmas! Please click 1970 Mercury Marauder X-100 for additional photos
