This is the car that dreams are made of!! It is a TRUE - Code "23" - FROM THE FACTORY Mercury Comet Caliente V8 Car, OT A CLONE !! You can now own aVERY NICE Classic Comet Caliente that is getting hard to find, specially in this kind of condition !! We just purchasedthis BEAUTY from the previous Arizona owner and as you can clearlysee in the pictures and video it was his pride and joy for sure !! 1966 was the first and best year of the 3rd generation Comets and they tell me it's the year to have !! This Comet Caliente still retains its FACTORY ORIGINAL - left inner fender mounted Mercury data plate - FACTORY ORIGINAL - front radiator support Mercury VIN stamp and an ORIGINAL 1966 Mercury Comet owner's manual, ll of which are shown in several pictures below. I drove this Beauty for the last several days as my everyday driver to and from theoffice and running errands as needed and it ran and drove GREAT, O FUN !! This carhas been a NICE - DRY -SOLID - Arizona - Idaho high mountain desert -western vehicle and boy does it show !! At the heart of this Comet Caliente is what appears to be the VERY STRONG !! - ORIGINAL - Code "C/6C23W" - 289 CID V8 motor that isrunning very well indeed. The motor also sports an Edelbrock Performer 289 4 barrel intake manifold, RIGINAL exhaust manifolds, olished Billet aluminum performance high rise valve covers, olished Billet aluminum air cleaner housing, luminum Performance radiator and an Edelbrock Performance 4 barrel carburetor, tc... . Sounds GREAT too with the "Throaty" true dual exhaust system with dual chrome tips. The motor is backed by a SMOOTH - Code "6" - C4 3 speed - "Cruise'O'Matic" - automatic transmission that also functions very well. The BEAUTIFUL - Code "65" - Red Vinyl and faux wood grain accented bucket seat interior is in NICE condition including VERY NICE Red Vinyl bucket seats with adjustable headrests, ICE ORIGINAL Matching Red vinyl door panels with correct faux wood grain inserts, ICE Red carpeting, ood ORIGINAL Black dash, ERY NICE ORIGINAL Factory Guage clusters, ERY NICE Custom Billet aluminum steering wheel, ood ORIGINAL Red vinyl headliner showing some imperfections,VERY NICE ORIGINAL Red vinyl sun visors and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Red Vinyl rear seat. The ORIGINAL Comet steering wheel is also included and shown in a picture below. This '66 Comet came nicely equipped from the factory including factory power steering, actory wing windows, actory power wipers, actory front and rear seat belts, ood heater and defroster, riginal chrome remote driver's side view exterior mirror, riginal day / night rear view mirror, actory guage clusters including a 120 MPH speedometer, ftermarket Sunpro "Super Tach II" tachometer, ftermarket Moon voltage, il ressure and temperature guages, riginal Mercury AM radio which is no longer working, WESOME JVC digital AM / FM / AUX / CD player stereo radio, actory back up lights and adjustable rear air shocks. This Comet Caliente also came from the factory with OPTIONAL DELUXE FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING although everything from the firewall forward is missing. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are still clear, right and BEAUTIFUL!!All of the ORIGINAL chrome and stainless steel exterior body trim and moldingsare alsoin NICE ORIGINAL condition. VERY NICE ORIGINAL badging and VERY NICE ORIGINAL grill and chrome headlight surrounds. All of the black rubber weatherstrippingis soft, uppleand is in good condition.
