Description of 1964 Mercury Comet

DESCRIPTION

You are looking at an amazing example of a 60's mercury Comet Caliente. This car was lovingly restored and was on display in a car museum. The previous owner purchased it from the museum to give to his wife for a birthday present, 64 Comet was her first car) it was transported to Texas and vintage A/C along with an upgraded aluminum radiator was installed for the hot Texas summers. The quality of this car is amazing, he paint, lass, rim are all excellent. The only flaws are two small impressions on the roof on the driver side and a paint touch up on the driver door about the size of a pencil eraser. The dash is very nice all the factory gauges and lights work. The seats are excellent with "Grandma" Plastic clear seat covers installed like the old days. It drives smooth, he transmission shifts smooth, uiet power steering. The brakes are drum and dont perform like modern disc brakes. This car is nice enough to show, nd still very drive able for a 50 year old car. We encourage you to have the car inspected from an outside source, hey will tell you the true condition of the car. Check out the pictures and watch the video, uy with confidence.
The 1964 Comet was redesigned with a much more square shape, hough it was still built on the same platform as the 1963 model. Its basic lines were shared with the new Falcon, ut the front grille used styling similar to that of the Lincoln Continental. Along with the redesign, he model designations were changed. Then in descending order of trim levels were the Caliente, 04 and 202, eplacing the previous Custom and base models. The base 144 cid six engine was dropped and the 170 cid six became the new base engine, his one has the factory upgraded 200CI motor and Merc-o-matic transmission. Due to the success of the full size Ford and Mercury "fastback" roofline introduced in mid-1963, he Falcon and Comet 2-door hardtops got a similar roofline with sharper corners.
