Description of 1972 Mercury COLONY PARK MARQUIS |
1972 Mercury Colony Park Wagon This is a nice old Wagon. I'm selling-off some of my wagons to down-size. This is the first to be listed. I bought it from the original owner's Estate. He had been in a nursing home for a Long time. And finally gave the o.k. to sell it last year. It only has 32,800 miles. And the obvious signs are there. The brake pedal and gas pedal look new. And the arm rests. The way the car drives. etc... Everything works except the A.C. The options are: cruise control,429,deluxe luggage rack, am/fm Stereo, Power tailgate window, Rear Jump seats, rim-blow horn, a.c. is all there, but would need gone thru. I took the car to my local high-end body shop to get all the rust repaired. All rust-free sheet metal was used. And they even kept the Wagon in their showroom for awhile to advertise their amazing work. The original owner did run into a pole in the late 80's on the driver-side and had it repaired at the time, but the dealer used Woodgrain for a 73 Colony Park instead of the correct 72 Style. ( 72 had no black lines ) It looks nice, but wanted to point that out. For the Purist of Wagon collectors, I actually tracked-down 4 Complete N.O.S. rolls of the Correct 72 Colony Park style Wood Grain if you wanted to re-do it and make it perfect. I have bought a new set of tires and muffler/tail-pipe. There is a dark circle on the dash whereI think one of those period correct Compasses was glued on at one time. I'm being nit-picky but just want to get all I know about the car out there. The car drives nice. Like a Low-mileage car should. All the glass is good as well. I am really good about answering e-mails in a timely manner. There is no warranty being implied or offered. ( It's 44 years old ) Over-seas buyers are always welcome to bid, funds just have to clear first. I would rate the car a 8 out of 10 Not a show car, but one you would be very proud to own. Fairly rare nowadays. If you don't want to chance losing-out last minute to someone else, shoot me a buy it now offer. I'm very up for that as well. And feel free to e-mail me what my reserve is, I'll gladly share that! My feed-back is 100 PERCENT POSITIVE after 15 years, so hopefully that helps in the process. I've sold about a dozen cars on Ebay over the years and NO complaints! I'm very proud of that. If you live close or know someone who can come check the car out in person, I will gladly make time to show the car. |
