Description of 1951 Mercury Other Base |
It's often mentioned "art imitates life", and to this end, the cars manufactured in the post World War II decades exhibited this beautiful and architecturally interesting facet in most instances, exhibiting the technological, aerodynamic, and sociological nuances pervasive attime of their creation. Representing probably one of the most gorgeous examples of Mercury's 1951 Coupe, and now being offered for your consideration, you simply will not find a nicer and morethoughtfully created mild custom currently available. Part of a collection and stable of beautiful cars, owned and restoredby the same owner over a number of years, who has now since departed our world, the family has decided to pass it on to the next generation who will love and covet it. As is commonly stated inthecollector car world, we are merely the caretakers of these beautiful creations, never really owning them, but passing them on the to next generation. Howtrue. Stunning in aflawless deep maroon, mirror like two stage paint finish, complimented with excellent stainless and chrome trim, perfect glass, andaccentuated by 15" radialwhitewall tires, louveredhood, "Frenched" headlamps, original and rare 1957 Cadillac hubcaps, power release trunk, and a chromed 54 Chevy grill, it shows magnificently. Its roof has received a mild "chop" of approximately two inches, providing for more than adequate cabin headroom, and adding a more gracefully, flowing and sporty look to its body. Its professional and expensive restoration "left no stone unturned' from the frame, suspension, body, engine, interior and more. Its powertrain is unique from the perspective of originality. Maintaining its rebuilt 255 cubic inch flathead eight cylinder engine, bored 0.30 over with higher compression pistons and a Iskederian mildperformance camshaft, Holly 4 barrelcarburetor, Fenton cast iron headers, and high flow exhaust, it exhibits a wonderful and pleasant exhaust note and timbre when running. Accompaning the engine downstream is a more contemporary Ford C4 transmission and ford differential with 3:56 gears, providing for a pleasurable and trouble free driving experience on the highway and locally. Its runs and drives withabsolutely no issues. Additionalmechanical compliments are a rebuilt high flow radiator, custom steering column with tilt feature, power steering, polished wood and aluminum steering wheel, and complete 12 volt system and wiring upgrade. Brakes are the original updated drum and shoe configuration. It stops without any issues. The Mercury Coupe's Ivory upholstered interior is gorgeous and flawless, tastefully and professionally done to to complimentthe exterior color. Tobacco carpeting brings it all together. In conclusion, the accompanying pictures pretty muchillustrate it all. The aforementioned text cannot really accurately describe how nice a car it is. In consideration of this, I stronglyreccomend personal inspection, or by a qualifiedagent of your choiceprior to purchase. Inspections as acondition of sale after the sale end will not be permitted. Respectfully, please do your due diligence beforehand. You will not be disappointed.
