Description of 1951 Mercury Other

The exterior black lacquer is all original. I decided to leave it as is for that derelict look. There are faded spots on the roof and hood. However. the interior was completely reupholstered in a beautiful burnt orange and cream vinyl with matching burnt orange carpet. The dash. window surrounds. steering wheel and all knobs were painted with a computer matched cream color. The seat belts are burnt orange with chrome aviation style lift buckles. The following is a list of everything that has been done elsewhere on this classic:A new exhaust system was installed and converted to true dual pipes with Porter Mufflers and chrome tips. A new fuel filter installed along with a new flexible fuel line from the firewall. A passive in-line fuel filter was also installed just north of the fuel tank. A professionally refurbished original Holley carb from Mercuryland was installed. An excellent custom Mattson Aluminum Radiator was installed with new hoses after a total system. day-long. flush was performed. An electric push fan was installed with a toggle switch wired under the dash. Brand new set of Diamondback 3" Wide White Radials were installed. Brand new headlamps were installed. The trunk handle has been re-chromed. New red Mercury emblems were installed in the hood and trunk chrome. A new ignition coil was installed. Custom made all steel fender skirts were attached. A fusible link was installed on the main electrical cable. A new rubber seal was installed around the back window glass.
