Up for auction is this rather rare and not often seen 1955 Mercury Monterey woody wagon. Also it is a nine passenger which is unusual. Factory 292 V-8 auto trans, ps, pb, tinted glass, radio clock and heater . The car originated from Colorado and is super solid. Good straight body Nice solid undercarriage with factory under coat. Recent dual exhaust system . Mechanically it is sound. Motor runs well, transmission shifts fine, Stops fine. The color is dark turquoisewith painted wood grain applique . All light, turn signals, park and stop light, blower motor and wipers all work. Radio and clock not working Wipers are slow as they are vacuum. Interior for the most part is in decent driver quality condition . The head liner is stained in areasand may be able to be dyed short of replacingit. All the chrome and stainless trim is in above average condition. Upper tailgate opens fine but the left slidinghinge on the tail gate seems to be catching so I didn't want to force it. Drivers side rear door glass has a crack. This is not a show ca, just a good solid daily driver that can be used as is or improved upon to make even nicer. I can see this with a set of kelsey Hayes wire wheels and fender skirts which would really dress it up. We have a clear New Hampshire registration and proper dealer paper work to make a smooth transaction.
