Description of 1965 Mercury Comet Calente |
1965 comet numbers matching original even still has the factory metal tags on everything. It's a 289 2 barrel 3 speed automatic power steering. The washer tank is like new and even the glass bottle is there with the lid on it. I got the car from the original owners son that was down sizing. The car is straight. The glass is perfect not even a chip. There is a rust hole through both front floor pans. The drain holes on the trunk drop down pans are enlarged a couple inches on each side from rust, and as u can see in the picture there's rust starting over the rear right wheel. The original interior needs redone if u want it like new again. If your into patina just put clearcoat over over the original paint.I'm a certified mechanic so I got this car ready to drive for thousands of miles. I installed a new 3 row aluminum radiator and heater core and master cylinder. The breaks still look like new so I didn't replace them. Some pictures u see the old tires but there all brand new including the spare and all rims and hubcaps are original and I replaced the right reverse lens too. This car runs and drives like it just came out of the factory and ready to go anywhere and everything works except the dome lights I see the wires are broke were the doors hinge I'm sure u can handle that. I'm not giving this car away but I did the research it's still a deal. This car is ready to drive or drive and restore or put some high flow heads heads on the 289 with a posi and hang on. |
