Description of 1979 Mercury Grand Marquis

1979 Mercury Grand Marquis. Seldom seen two door coupe. 29,250 original miles. 30 year indoor storage by original lady owner and then her family. The story goes, Mrs.Mary Kempennaar of Middletown, R.I. bought the car new at Saccucci L/M. She did not drive, so when she needed to go out one of her kids drove her in this car. It only went out in the good weather. Last year it came out of hibernation and a major service was done including four new tires, new radiator and hoses, new exhaust, complete brake job incl new wheel cylinders, new fuel tank, and what ever else needed done to bring it up too full drivable, usable status. The condition of this car is fabulous. Totally original paint in Metallic Red Glamour, an optional color. Mint white vinyl Landau roof, and the interior is like stepping back in time. Its that new. The under carriage looks like a two year old car. No surface rust. Not a spec of rust on the body. It is highly optioned and features power windows, locks, seat, tilt, cruise, wire wheel covers, rear defogger, bumper rub strips, power antenna, stereo radio and more. The chrome and stainless are excellent. All rubber seals are supple and like new. It has the 302 V8. This is the first year they downsized after the big boy 78. I have lots of original paperwork incl bill of sale, build sheet, warranty card and price sticker. No 40 year old car is perfect. With that being said, you may see chips that have been touched up, scratches, maybe a door ding, very minor pitting on the bumper tops and not much else. The a/c has not been serviced, the fuel sender sticks at times on 1/4. Other than that I restate this is a fin, original example in all ways and would be a great addition to anyones collection. On a scale of 1-10, this car is a 9.5. Please call with any questions at 508-498-5789. My name is Jeff. Car may be seen in Milford, Mass. If you have less than 10 feedback, call me before you bid. It is for sale locally. Shipping is up to you. I do sell oversees. Thank you for looking at my beautiful Mercury.
