Description of 1972 Mercury Other Brougham |
Up for sale is a 99% original 1972 Mercury Marquis Brougham. Clean Texas title. I would say this car is a 9.7 out of 10. Only thing that has been changed from original is the stereo (original is in the trunk) past owner wanted a tape deck and it just had AM/FM from factory and I changed out the paper 6x9 speakers in the back deck lid to new kicker 6x9 (originals are also in the trunk and new speakers were direct bolt on nothing cut) To me the inside of this car looks like it just rolled off the dealers showroom. If you want to restore this car only thing inside I see it would need is new carpet or dye the carpet. The carpet is in great shape just faded. The seats I would call perfect, door panels still look new, dash is uncracked no rips no fading, glass is all there no chips no cracks. So I would say inside is 9.9 of 10 The car starts, cranks, and runs perfect. I have put about 1,000 miles on the car myself and it turns heads everywhere. Running driving 10 of 10 The paint on this car needs some attention. There were some surface rust areas that has been sanded and primer has been laid on them areas. Only to keep it from rusting. Outside of car 9.8 of 10 I bought this car to turn it into a "slab" air bags loud system etc... for car shows (Not classic car shows) After changing out the belts, fluids, plugs/wires, new tires (all the basic stuff you should do to older cars) I have realized I can not chop and destroy a true survivor. The car was garaged kept before and I do not have a place to store something like this. One nice thing about a classic / antique like this is the insurance was $308 a year full coverage for $20,000 on the car. Not in a rush to sale. Please don't waste my time and people who really want to buy this car. The deposit is nonrefundable if the sale is canceled due to your wishes. If I have to cancel the sale I will refund your money. |
