Description of 1966 Mercury Park Lane

Heres a big ol 1966 Mercury in the top of the line Parklane series. One of only 2,546 Convertibles produced that year. Being a Parklane it has the big Mercury specific 410 motor rated at 330 HP with 444 lbs/ft of big block torque. To match the Big Block torque is set if highway friendly 2.80 gears This Parklane was built in May of 1966, and painted Turquoise Frost to compliment the white interior with blue apponiments. A Ford employee ordered this Mercury new (DSO 84) and proceeded to load it up with options. In addition to the previously mentioned 410 it has auto, power steering, power brakes, power windows, AM/FM radio with rear seat speaker, visual safety check panel, intermittent wipers, and deluxe wheel covers. The old Merc runs and drives great. I have used it as my daily driver for the last month or so. This is about as turn key ready as it gets for an old car. I put a new set of tires on it, carb overhaul, heater core, upper control arm bushings, Pertronix Ignitor II electronic ignition conversion... Basically, any maintenance or repairs it needed, it received. The power top goes up and down as it should. It's showing about the same wear and tear as the paint job. If you need a show car figure on a new top and paint job. If you just want a gorgeous, giant Convertible to hop in and drive this is it. All of the lights, signals and brake lights work. Headlights, wipers, AM/FM radio all work as well. As far I know the only thing not operating properly is the clock and the drivers power window - the motor runs but I have to pull it up by hand and it stays up fine. The paint is showing its age and doesn't shine like it did 52 years ago. Overall the body is straight and solid with some bubbles starting at the rear 1/4s. There is no rust at all in the frame. The bottom of the doors, floors and rockers look excellent. It good ol car, surprisingly solid with the typical problems at the quarter panels. For more info call or text 573-230-6222. The only reason I'm considering a sale is that I just bought a 64 Parklane and one of them has to go. If you need any pictures or details I'd be glad to talk with you or send you any additional pictures you like. I want the potential buyer to be completely confident with their purchase.
