Description of 1977 Mercury Other |
Up for auction is a 1977 Mercury Marquis Colony Park Station Wagon from my father's estate. The vehicle has 30,058 original miles and was the top of the line for that year. The vehicle is entirely original and is very presentable. The vehicle is equipped with a 460 4V engine with an automatic transmission. Exterior: The paint color is Meadowlark Yellow (Original) with Simulated Wood Grain Vinyl. The vehicle does have some rock chips and a couple of small dings, but overall it looks as good as a vehicle that is two years old on the outside in my opinion. Note there is a small crease under the Colony Park insignia on the left rear quarter panel in the wood grain, which is hardly noticeable. Additionally, the floors boards and under chassis appear to be solid. Interior: The interior is almost flawless, it looks as good as it did when it was new in my opinion. There are no rips, tears, or worn spots on the interior. The carpets look as good as new. There is no visible cracks in the dash pad, the headliner has no tears or holes, and the seats have no cracking. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a rear storage compartment only, there are no additionally seats in that area. Accessories: 1. Power Windows/Vents2. Power Tailgate Window with Rear Window Defog3. Power Door Locks4. Cruise Control5. Climate Control Heat and Air6. AM/FM Stereo Radio7. Clock (Works when it wants)8. Split Bench Front Seat - Power on Driver Side, Manual on Passenger Side9. Power Steering10. Power Brakes11. Roof Luggage Rack12. JR78/15 Michelin Tires (appears to be the original tires) When we removed the vehicle from storage we found that the heater core was leaking and we had a new one installed. The mechanic that inspected the vehicle and installed the heater core stated that the air conditioning was cool, but not cold. It needed to be recharged with R-12 or converted over. He also noted that the fuel sending unit was sticking in the gas tank and could possibly begin working again with use. He noted that the exhaust system is original and that the baffles in the muffler are noisy, but would not prevent it from passing inspection. He also installed a new gas filter. The vehicle is in outstanding condition to be 41 years old and is very presentable. As with any old vehicle anything could go wrong at any time, but currently the vehicle is running great and drives like a luxury vehicle on the highway. Please note that there are some flaws in the paint such as chips that have been touched up over the years and maybe a ding or two on the vehicle. The vehicle also comes with the original owners manual. Make sure to ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Thank you. Final Comments: The vehicle is being sold without a reserve.
