This 1969 Mercury Cougar is a beautiful muscle car with lots of presence and all of the fun that a convertible top adds to the experience. The engine and drive train are original to the car. Not only do all the numbers match, the fenders have their original stamped numbers visible as well. The car is very original with a very well preserved original interior, dash, and instruments. The top is a newer replacement with upgraded glass window for better... visibility. The trunk is nicely appointed in correct hounds tooth material and the original spare is still present. Adding to the vintage charm is a collection of 8-track cassettes that stays with the car. The engine has a great bass-y note and revs up smoothly. The transmission works as designed, as do the brakes. The interior could do with some additional detailing, but it presents well, with no rips or glaring defects to be seen. The blue paint is nice and has great shine. There are minor blemishes present in the paint in form of the odd fine scratch here or there. There is one touch up spot the size of a finger nail on the deck lid toward the rear edge. The flip-up headlight covers work well and add that famous Cougar touch. The chrome on the car is excellent and appears to have been redone when the car was repainted a few years back. The deep wheels are nicely chromed and sport 225 width tires for a great stance. There is a lot to like about this convertible Cougar and it most definitely ready for spring and summer enjoyment.
