Description of 1965 Mercury Monterey |
More photos coming Thursday or Friday)1965 Mercury Monterey. 390. Automatic. 52k Miles. 2-Door Sedan When this beautiful 1965 Mercury Monterey came into our shop. it was an extensive cosmetic restoration that the previous owner didn’t get finished. With only 52. 00 actual miles on it we wanted to go the extra mile to get it in summer cruising condition. Outside the car received a complete wet sand and buff to make that Black paint really shine. We rechromed the bumpers. replaced the tail lights and installed new headlight bulbs. replaced the door handles and emblems. plated the B pillar trim. added some great hand painted pin stripes and rounded it all out with a new set of 17”Coy C55 wheels and new red line radial tires. The interior was freshened up with new front lower seat fabric. new carpet. window felts. lock knobs. and we made sure everything looks and fits the way it should. Then we moved to the engine compartment and added some chrome valve covers and air cleaner to this Y-Code 390 with automatic transmission. and did some additional detailing. It also has an aluminum intake and 4 barrel carb. power steering and aftermarket power front disc brakes. The exhaust manifolds were removed and new gaskets were installed. then we put a fresh exhaust system under it. Even the trunk received a new correct Burtex mat. correct spare tire and jack. Overall this is a great looking and driving car. This Monterey is a head-turner where ever it goes and will be the talk of your neighborhood when you pull it into your driveway.
