1967 Mercury Monterey Convertible - Marti Report - 390ci V8 w/Automatic Transmission - Power Top - Power Steering - (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are not presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) This long, chiseled machine is one of... only 2,818 Monterey convertibles produced for '67, which made this car a rare sight back then. To find a Monterey convertible in the condition that this one is in today is a rarity! Take a closer look, you won't be disappointed. The body of the car was restored a number of years ago and finished with a new coat of Jamaican Yellow paint (Code 8). The body panels are stick straight and line up nicely. During the restoration of the body, the rear fenders were replaced as they had not withstood the test of time very well and had become brittle. Trim and brightwork is all in great condition, along with the Deluxe wheel covers, that provide a sportier look to this big 'ol car. Slide behind the wheel and you're seated in an interior that was well optioned and luxurious at the time the car rolled off the St. Louis, Missouri production line in late '67. A glance around the interior reveals a simple and highly original passenger space. Ford fans will be happy to hear that under the hood is a 390ci V8 mated to a Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. A little muscle under the hood for the car that Mercury advertised as "The Man's Car". According to the Marti Report, this car has some interesting statistics that tell a portion of its history. Of the 130,556 Montereys produced for '67, only 2,818 were convertibles, and only 238 were painted Jamaican Yellow. This car was one of 335 with this paint code, and one of 268 with this paint and trim code. Other options this car was ordered with are; Select Shift Merc-O-Matic transmission, white sidewall rayon tires, Deluxe wheel covers w/"spinners", AM Radio with antenna, Dual rear seat speakers, interval selector windshield wipers, Decor group, and deluxe seat belts. This car is well equipped and is one of very few convertibles made for the '67 model year. Along with the Marti report, we have an array of service records, Owner's Manuals, and brochures to go with the car. This unique and rare Monterey convertible is ready for a new place to call home. The 390 V8, power top, clean and straight body, and comfortable interior are all notable features about this Merc you can enjoy for years to come.
