Description of 1954 Mercury Monterey No trim field |
This 1954 Mercury Monterey 2 Door Convertible (Stock #B11542) is available in our Benicia, CA showroom and any inquiries may be directed to us at707-706-2162or via email at [](mailto:). Incredibly Rare 1954 Mercury Monterey Convertible New to our Benicia showroom is this outstanding, fully restored 1954 Mercury Monterey 2 Door Convertible with Siren Red exterior paint and a matching red vinyl interior. You’ll find a factory correct 256 cid V-8 engine under... the hood with a Holley 4bbl carburetor and the matching automatic transmission. This rare classic comes equipped with factory electric windows, a working original radio and clock, the Continental Kit with an additional spare tire (6 total), original manuals and so much more. The odometer reads a mere 83,009 miles…which the current owner believes could possibly be lifetime mileage. This 1954 Mercury Monterey Roadster is VIN # 54LA14514M. The body specs on the driver’s door columns show that the style is a “BR76B Monterey Convertible” with production numbers “21-477-5A-41”. That translates to being manufactured in Los Angeles, CA on January 5th, 1954 (the 41stoff the line that day). The factory correct color is Siren Red with a red/black interior. This was also the 4,513thof 7,293 convertibles to be produced that year with the desirable overhead valve Y-block 256 engine. Painstakingly Restored Back to Bone-Stock Specifications This 1954 Mercury Monterey 2 Door Convertible underwent an extensive restoration effort back in the summer of 2003 restoring this glorious classic back to factory-true condition both inside and out. From a flawless body with show quality paint, sensational chrome work and virtually perfect trim, this is easily the most impressive example we’ve ever come across. The interior is even more impressive with all original working equipment that appears to have just pulled off the factory showroom floor. The attention to detail is incredible and you will not find a more pristine model anywhere on the open market. Additionally, this 1954 Mercury Monterey 2 Door Convertible has been enjoyed by 5 different lifetime owners, the most recent of which took possession back in 2016. Although it’s been 16 years since this classic roadster was fully restored, it’s only been driven a total of 500 miles since that time and it could still pass for like-new condition throughout. The performance is also impressive on the open road with nice acceleration and a great overall feel. This classic could be driven virtually anywhere tomorrow and it would be a smooth, enjoyable ride the entire way. Possibly the Most Pristine Example Anywhere Nationwide Overall, this incredibly rare 1954 Mercury Monterey 2 Door Convertible borders on museum quality with all the provenance you’d look for in an investment grade example. Given the low number of survivors still in existence and the rare factory options found on this prestigious classic, this ’54 Merc will be the discovery of a lifetime for one lucky collector. Come see it today before it’s gone- it won’t last long! For more information about this vehicle, visit our Benicia, California showroom, give us a call at707-706-2162, or email us at [](mailto:).
