The Mercury Cougar was first introduced in 1967 and finally gave the brand its own pony car. The Cougar was based on the Mustang and featured a lot of shared mechanicals but a three inch longer wheelbase. The exterior was meant to evoke a more European flavor and the car was said to have drawn inspiration from the Jaguar E-type. The car is showing its age but for the money is a great entry level car for somebody. It is powered by what appears to be a 302 v8 paired with an automatic transmission. Other highlights include black vinyl top, 14 inch factory steel wheels and hubcaps, bucket seats, center console, spare and jack, hide away headlights, air conditioning, power brakes, power steering and a cassette player.
