Cathy. 1970 Mercury Marauder Info: 1 Owner (Purchased new by the current owner in December, 1969) VIN: 0Z61N505828 90,723 Actual Miles (Title will reflect actual miles) Original 429 Engine & C-6 Transmission Stored for the past 40 years in a climate controlled environment. Driven occasionally each year in summer months. Runs, drives, and stops. (Engine sounds good and transmission shifts smoothly.) When I arrive to photograph a client's car, I look for fluid leak spots on the floor. In this case, there was a pan under the rear of the engine to collect oil spills. (While not much was in the container, this is usually an indication of a rear main seal leak.) There is a significant amount of rust beginning to form on the driver's side wheel well. (See picture). The fender skirts are present, in good condition, and will be included with the car. This car was repainted the original color in 1979 or 1980. The paint is now "mediocre at best" with signs of paint flakes above the right headlight area. (See picture). The headlight doors operate as they should. All lights, turn signals, interior lights, brake lights, etc., work as they should. The tires hold air and we did not feel any "flat spots" when driving. There are insignificant signs of dry-rot. The chrome bright work trim and bumpers appear to be dent-free and shiny. The horn works as it should. The radio works however I did not check the telephone or CB. All glass is perfect and windows roll up and down as they should. The air cleaner and related items are present and were only removed to prime the carburetor to get it started. The tail pipe has rust holes. There was not any smoke on start-up or after being driven. The brakes (disc) seemed soft. I was unable to check the air conditioning. The windshield wipers work. (I did not check the washers). The wheels are original and seem to be in good condition. The rocker panels are solid without any signs of previous repair. The bottom of the driver's door shows obvious signs of amateur rust or damage repair. (See picture). The interior in excellent condition with the exception of a very small, yet noticeable, hole in the headliner between the 2 sun-visors. (See picture). The dash board and door panels are excellent and crack-free. The tachometer works. The engine compartment is dirty. I ship cars worldwide. The title is clear. I will present all offers to the owner and reserve the right to end this listing if and when the first offer is acceptable. This vehicle is available for inspection by you, or a reputable vehicle inspection company, with appointment. Listen up guys. If you've ever dreamed of owning an original and affordable 429 Marauder, one that was purchased by it's original owner 50 years ago, one that's bound to continue going up in value, I doubt that there's another one out there. I am very good at answering questions. I will also provide addition pictures if needed. (Ebay only allows me so much space here.) If there are specific pictures you'd like, I'll re-visit the car and take them for you. If there are questions that you have that I can't answer, I'll ask the owner Joseph, or even have you speak directly with him. He is a delightfully young 87 year old man who enjoys talking about his Marauder!
GOOD LUCK GUYS! |
