Description of 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser

We have for auction today our 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser, extremely rare car and hard to find in totally original condition as this one is. It does need restored or carburetorrebuilt and drive as is. Clean California title in hand.
The stock original V8 starts up and runs but thecarburetorwill need rebuilt as it does not stay running. Engine is strong and healthy, I am trying to locate the air cleaner, but for now it is not on the car. I replaced the tires the day we took it out of storage so they are brand new.
Cosmetically, this Turnpike Cruiser is extremely straight and original and has never had any accident damage, there are some small "dings" here and there but nothing major. I do see a bit of rust in front of the rear wheel (see pic) but the floor boards and trunk are very solid. Passenger tail light sun cracked and I am including another one. There are a few pieces of trim missing/damaged- "TURNPIKE" emblem, chrome strip between trunk and rear bumper and the chrome strip over the passenger wheel well is off and in the trunk but has a bend. All glass is in good shape, clean and clear. Original jack and spare located in trunk.
Interior is needing redone but all there and factory original.
This Mercury is stored in Moreno Valley, California, 92551 near March Air Base.
