You are bidding on a 1960 Mercury Park lane 4 door hardtop, one of 5788 "cruiser hardtop sedans" made in 1960. It has a huge 430 c.i. V-8 engine with a 2 barrel carb, a 3 speed automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. It is very solid with no rust and it has spent most of its life in storage. It has a rebuilt carb and new exhaust and only 75,000 miles. Although it has started to fall off, you can still see the 1980 New Jersey inspection sticker on the windshield. When I bought it, it had been in a dry warehouse storage place for about 25 years. I have had it in storage for the past 6 years and there are a few things that it needs now: 1) The gas tank has rust in it and will need to be flushed out or replaced, I have been running it from a portable can 2) the brake pedal goes to the floor, I don't see any leaks and suspect it is the master cylinder 3) After I removed it from storage and was planning to fix it, hurricane Isaias put a tree through the windshield. So...it needs a windshield also. With winter coming, I decided to sell it as a project because I lost my storage and I don't want it to sit outside in the cold winter months. My loss and your gain. I have many extra parts that go with the car, enough to fill the trunk.Because it has no brakes it will have to be towed. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions.
