Description of 1985 Mercury Capri Recaro

Mercury Capri ASC McLaren, one of only 186, Convertibles, built in 1985, by Mercury. The vehicle was built on the Ford assembly lines at the same time as the Mustangs, so very similar mechanically . It has the Ford 302 V8 and the Ford Automatic overdrive (AOD), starts, runs and drives well and stops every time you brake. I am the third (3rd) owner, both previous owners were residents of Florida, so no rust on the car, The mileage shown on the odometer is not correct, but all vehicles over 10 years old are sold in Florida with a mileage exempt stamp. Look for another one of these, check Ebay, you will not find one, so my misfortune is someone elses good luck. The car was resprayed in its original color last year and the 2 seats were rebuilt and recovered at the same time, it is only a 2 seater the back seat being removed to get room for the roof to fold down, where the back of the seat used to be, you now have two very neat storage boxes (fitted by McLaren) The roof is manual (put it up and down by hand) the seats were electric but someone (not me honest) cut all the wires leading to the seats, so they are manual now. There is a Radio//CD player fitted in the vehicle, but the speakers are Bose and sit on the floor behind the drivers seat, The original radio/speakers come with the car.
