Description of 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 |
1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 114,779 miles C code 289 2bbl car, now a 302 2bbl C4 Automatic PS, PB A/C (Complete but non functional) Cinnamon Frost Metallic paint with Saddle interior. Texas Bonded Title Please take the time to look at the pictures closely and read the description. If you have any addition questions or would like specific pictures, I'd be happy to answer them. This Cinnamon Frost 1967 Cougar has been off the road since 1981 I believe. It's had a repaint but was poorly stored in a garage with carpet draped over it which destroyed the paint. The body is straight, good chrome, straight bumpers and is complete with all it's trim. All glass is good, no cracks or chips. All windows roll up and down. The frame rails, rockers and torque boxes are solid but it will need partial floors, lower rear quarters, and a small section in the trunk due to rust. Other than that, there is some surface rust and paint blisters. I have poked at a few and they're not rusted through.I am including a set of aftermarket driver and passenger side floor pans (New/Used). Originallythe interior was Medium Saddle Levant Leather and Medium Saddle Natural Leather but the seat inserts were replace with cloth at some point. Overall the interior is in very nice shape other than the carpet and the stitching on the headliner is pulling in a few places and has a tennis ball size hole over the rear qtr window. The 289 was seized from sitting so I replaced it with a low mileage rebuilt 1974 302. The original 289 long block goes with the car if you want it. Overall it's a good start to a well optioned car. XR7, Power steering, power brakes and A/C (non functional but complete). It runs good, shifts as it should but the master cylinder is frozen so no brakes. The headlight covers work but only by tripping the over ride switch under the hood because the headlight switch is stuck but I have one to go with the car. With a little work, a person could go through the brakes, put on some tires (Has bias ply G78-14 tires on it still) and run it down the road. Then address the other issues. You are welcome to pick up the Cougar in person or arrange your own shipping. I am in the Dallas / Fort Worth, Texas area and available 7 days a week. I will accept cash, Ebay payment or bank transfers(which will need to clear before release of the vehicle). I will not accept cash app, Venmo, Zelle, etc. If you've read this far, I'm glad I could keep your attention. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them as well as provide specific pictures.
