Description of 1970 MG Midget Hillclimb Car

I have a Midget/Sprite race car for sale that runs and is in very nice physical shape. It is unlike many British racing cars in that it appears to not have been converted to true SCCA road racing specifications. but rather is closer to stock. For example. it is hardly lower than a stock Midget. yet it has a massive roll bar/cage. So I think it may have been a hill climb car or other similar sort of racing. This MG Midget appears to have been a race car all it's life as there are little signs of road use and virtually NO RUST. I do see some tiny bubbles in a few places. but those are really more flaws in the paint than significant rust. The undercarriage and floors are all totally solid. The body is straight. The Good: The nice body and good running 1275cc BMC engine with big 45mm side-draft Weber carb. Car also has a nice fuel cell in the trunk and a very well put together roll bar/cage. Also. the car could be converted to a fast street car with relatively little effort. This was my plan. to have a dual-purpose machine for vintage racing and occassional street use. This car comes with some parts to convert it to street use including turn signals. etc. The Bad: The hydraulic clutch doesn't work. I installed a new slave cylinder and new line from the master cylinder and rebuilt the MC. But I can't seem to bleed it enough to get the clutch to operate. So the car runs. but doesn't move! Also. the car is on stock wheels and would need new tires to be used on road or track. A Hard Top (shown in some pics) is available for an additional $300. I have too many projects to pursue this clutch issue any longer. so the car is for sale. Note: a brand new Master Cylinder and some careful bleeding of the system should get you going.
