Description of 1974 MG MGB |
THE OVERVIEW Offered for an appreciating new owner is this rare classic 1974 MGB GT! Finished in gleaming original fire engine red color, his 99.9% rust-free collectible is the last of the chrome-bumpered dual carbeurator cars. It sports a California antique license plate with clear and clean CA. title in hand. The WORKING five-digit odometer currently shows 56,500 miles which is strongly believed to be true and accurate with this car being hardly driven as a third vehicle for decades. I cannot 100% verify the true mileage while I personally have driven the car about 500 total miles during my several year ownership. It features an excellent running four cylinder engine with dual carbs mated to a factory four speed manual transmission [with NO overdrive option]. It sports factory alloy wheels with excellent rubber, xpen$ive wood steering wheel [plus the original black one included], edone Jaguar leather hides with white piping, rand new brake shoes, oses and cylinders, ewer stereo and a box of miscellaneous extra parts. While not quite a concourse show winner, his IS a beautiful driver-quality example for local shows and sunny day cruising while garnering much attention [for about the cost of the sales tax alone on a new quickly depreciating Jaguar!] THE BODY AND TRIM The exterior of this 1974 MGB is in very good to excellent nearly 100% rust-free condition overall with a deep lustrous shine. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the exterior finish of this car a solid 7.5. The chrome looks to be all original with a bit of fading. Minor defects include some paint flaws on the top of the two rear quarter panels along with some minor paint nicks, cratches and other very light blemishes THE INTERIOR The interior of this classic is also in very fresh and excellent condition overall that I would rate a solid 8+. The manual choke, tereo, orn, ights, linkers odometer, peedometer and other gauges are in excellent working order. This is a still quite splendid classic cockpit in the British tradition. THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE This MGB starts, uns and drives very well with good acceleration, ice crisp steering and tight handling, ood braking and solid tracking. It is a quite enjoyable motoring experience that flashes you back in time to the seventies! THE DETAILS AND $$$$$ |
