Description of 1976 MG Midget |
Wow, ou don't see them like this one very often!!! Original 1976 MG Midget Convertible Survivor Sports Car. This Midget is all original with less than 28,500 miles. I purchased it from the 2nd owner who had it since 1990. In that length of time he had drove it less than 2,000 miles!!! It has always been stored in a heated garaged and covered. Always pampered and never abused. Adult owned its entire life. At best when new these cars were fragile and prone to damage and rusting. The bodies were egg shells! This MG Midget is rust free, olid and has a near perfect finish. Very nice fit, inish and shine to the original paint. The black interior is also all original and excellent! No splits or tears to the seats. All lights, auges, -blade wipers and AM-FM radio work! In 1976 MG Midgets had the most powerful engine & transmission set up from the Triumph's - 1493 cc engine with their mated 4 speed. This engine is completely original as it came in 1976, othing removed or altered. It runs exceptionally well as any 28,000 mile car would - very strong and starts right up! Transmission is smooth and precise. It drives and handles as well as it did in the late 70's. A true automotive time capsule from that fun era! I know its hard to believe but this 40 year old British car doesn't even have electrical or oil leak issues!! As I said its a hard one to beat!! A pull of the choke and turn of the key and it fires right up. It even had the original tires on it when I purchased it. All I have done is replace all 4 tires, dd a new battery. Oil has always been changed yearly. Comes with original keys, wners guide and repair manual. Has boot for the top and tonneau cover as well as a car cover. Color is a rare deep orange with the "Special Edition" Stripe on both sides. For those that don't know the Special Edition included the following dealer applied accessories: Stripe, M-FM Radio, uggage Rack and Chrome Wheel Rings and Centers. This really sets off the Orange!! One last thing to stress on this MG's condition, he fragile "rubber bumpers" are excellent on this car! These were always a focus of deterioration on most Midgets of this period. For honest full condition disclosure be sure to review the condition section above for the minor few items I have noted. In closing I want to stress I don't think there is any better, ow of mileage original condition MG Midget currently offered for sale! I have had several British Sports Cars over the years and this one is by far on the top of the list! I have done my best to describe its condition and attached as many pictures as allowed by Ebay. I am more than happy to answer any and all questions and send additional pics as requested to help in the bidding process. Although I believe this to be a very solid car it is being sold "as is - as described" to the best of my knowledge and ability. There is no warranty and it is the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay the transportation for its delivery. If you are the winning bidder a deposit of $500.00 is required to be sent within 48 hours and full payment in 7 days. I can be flexible on storing until transportation is arranged. My reserve is well below the Kelly Blue Book value for a MG Midget in this condition. Fall is the perfect time to enjoy a Convertible British Sports Car and this is the one that you will enjoy owning and get attention in!! Best of luck!!! |
