Description of 1974 MG MGB |
This is a fine running and handling MG. With the included Overdrive it is a match for cruising the interstate highways. Gearbox shifts just like it should, o grinds or howls. Clutch is smooth and engages without any chatter. Brakes stop smoothly and straight. The car is mechanically very good. The car is originally from Arizona and has significantly less rust than a typical New England auto. There are bubbles starting on the lower doglegs and some rust in the lower drivers front fender. Also a few pin holes in the drivers floor. There is NO rust over the rear wheel arches, ocker panels, trunk or pass floor This car was treated to a "TuffCoat" rust proofing treatment when new. This is a "no hit" body and still covered by 98% of its original paint The paint is quite faded and the top of the dash is in poor condition due to the many years in the Arizona sun. The seat covers and door panels are near new with no rips, ears or defects Windshield is barely starting to fog on the extreme outside edges and a complete used windshield assy is included The car is equipped with a full tonneau in need of some stitching repair and a zipper or two. Tires are practically new as is the full exhaust system. Included is a complete clutch hydraulic overhaul kit (not installed). . Over the last few years it has been to recipient of many new parts including radiator and cap, ater pump, uel pump, lternator, attery, oil, otors, calipers, ads, aster cylinder, tainless brake hoses, iper blades. The car is quite capable of being sa daily driver for small money while completing the restoration over time. |
