1955 MG A Convertible  Description 1955 MG MGA Roadster Highly desirable red with black leather interior 1.5L (B-series) inline 4 cylinder engine 4-speed manual transmission Factory optional wire wheels with "knock-off" centers caps 1 of only 1043 produced in 1955MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this extremely rare a 1955 MG MGA. This highly desirable red with black leather roadster absolutely defies it's age and is among the nicest examples available anywhere at any price. The MGA is a sports car  that was produced by MG  from 1955 to 1962. The MGA replaced the MG TF and represented a complete styling break from MG's earlier sports cars. Announced on 26 September 1955′ the car was officially launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show. A total of 101,081 units were sold through the end of production in July 1962, he vast majority of which were exported. As it was so different from the older MG models, t was called the MGA, he "first of a new line" to quote the contemporary advertising. There was also a new engine available, herefore the car did not have the originally intended XPAG unit but was fitted with the BMC corporate B-Series type allowing a lower bonnet line. Finished in rich Orient red, his British roadster shows extremely well with exceptional, rofessionally applied show quality paint. All the trim is present and is brilliant. The optional front and rear bumpers (equipped with over-riders) fit extremely tight and show well. The weather-stripping is pliable, ith little or no signs of drying, earing or shrinkage. The wire wheels present beautifully with little signs of use. The black canvass convertible top fits very well, he rear window is extremely clear. The factory window skirts with sliding Plexiglas windows fit correctly and are in excellent condition. Inside, he black leather front bucket seats and rear cargo compartment and all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The matching black door panels, arpet and dashboard are a striking contrast to the red exterior of the car and look fantastic. All gauges (including an aftermarket engine temperature gauge) are ergonomically placed, ave correct appearance and function as originally designed. Factory AM radio is still present and interior also features 13 inch Mountney wooden steering wheel is in very good condition and black leather dashboard which adds to the European roadster look and feel. This superb MGA is equipped with a 1.5L (B-series) inline 4 cylinder engine, ual SU semi-down draft H4 carburetors, -speed manual transmission, ndependent front suspension with coil springs, rigid rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs and Lockheed hydraulic drum brakes. Upgraded with the factory optional 15 inch chrome wire wheel with knock off center caps.
