Description of 1974 MG MGB

There aren't many better ways to get into a British roadster than this 1974 MGB convertible. Classic good looks in a car that doesn't cost a fortune to acquire or maintain; it's the ideal vintage roadster for the purist who prefers to take the long way home. It's easy to see why these cars are so popular. The sleek European lines with just the right amount of chrome give an MGB like this one a confidently regal appearance. 1974 was a short model year right before an update during the latter half that traded in the chrome grille and chrome rear bumpers for black plastic units. So this car was truly the last chance at classic British style. This distinction means these MkIII and earlier MGBs are worth investing a little more to buy, ecause they also hold this extra value. Of course another great value is having a factory red roadster. It benefits from a professional respray with modern paint that gives this one a fine luster when you're out on sunny days. The correct factory stylized steel wheels give this roadster a nice sporty finishing touch. This is not the kind of cushy interior that comes from a turnpike cruiser, ut if you've read this far, ou already knew that. Instead, he entire inside envelops the driver like a second skin. The space between the three-spoke wheel and the stick shift is exceptionally close, or comfortable and quick performance. The driver gets a full set of Smiths gauges with a large speedometer and tachometer, s well as dials for other vitals such as oil, uel, nd water. The carpets, oor panels, nd dash have a rich darkness that comes from a life of good maintenance and correct replacements. The black vinyl bucket seats are a great fit for a wide range of heights. Anyone settled in these sport seats can reach back with one hand and put up the newer matching black soft top. What makes these cars legendary is their feeling on the road. The 1.8-liter motor is rev happy, nd the twin SU carburetors have plenty of a zest. You could pour through the file of included restoration receipts, ut all you need to do is look at the pictures, nd you know there was plenty invested in the engine bay. Still, ater down the road when it comes time to service the motor, t was a staple in enough British cars that parts and upgrades are readily available and affordable. What really helps keep this engine stay in its sweet spot of the powerband the best is the control offered by the four-speed overdrive transmission. This spirited drivetrain is enhanced with the nimble rack & pinion steering and front disc brakes. All of these features combined makes this roadster feel connected to the driver that's why so many of these MGBs end up with a nickname. This MGB has been loved and maintained to be a great example of an international automotive icon. The only question is, hat are you going to name her? Call today!!!
