Description of 1968 MG MGC |
1968 MGC ROADSTER. BRITISH RACING GREEN WITH BLACK TRIM. 6-CYLINDER, LITER ENGINE. AUTOMATIC GEARBOX. 15" 60-SPOKE CHROME WIRE WHEELS. LUGGAGE RACK. FACTORY HARDTOP. AN EXCELLENT BLACK PLATE CALIFORNIA CAR NEEDING STRAIGHTFORWARD RESTORATION. 39,682 MILES. Offered for sale, rom KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, s this very decent, ighly original MGC Roadster. This car was recently purchased out of long term storage from it's Northern California owner, here it was presumably sold new in San Francisco. Out of the few C roadsters produced in 1968 and 1969, nly 506 were fitted with the automatic transmission. A lot of those cars have been converted to manual, o the few remaining automatic cars are rare. This car left the factory in the desirable color scheme of BRG with Black trim. The body on this car is extremely well preserved, aving never sustained any serious damage and is completely rustfree, ave for a small spot just starting on the lower LH font fender. The original floors are perfect, so are the dogleg areas, ockers, tc. There are the occasional scrapes and dings. The front RH fender has had some minor repair around the headlight. The car has only had one thin repaint over it's original paint. Panel fit is very good. The car's interior is fairly original. It is missing the original door panels and softtop frame. At one point, ater headrest reclining back seats were fitted. These could be retained and upholstered in the earlier style. The car comes with a rare factory hardtop. At some point, t appears that someone didn't know how to open the hood and broke in through the grille. The car's mechanicals are very original. The correct engine has been sitting a while, ut turns nicely by hand and may even run with a little bit of work. Last registration tags were 1997. The speedometer reads 39, 82 which could be original...The two brake servos have been removed and bypassed. Overall, this rare and interesting MGC Roadster is a well-preserved California car that has been stored for the past 20 years. It's a highly original example for easy restoration and will soon prove to be a good investment, estored back to it's original livery of BRG/Black with chrome wire wheels. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. This car is sold with a clear title and is available for inspection by appointment. This car is located in Southern California,35 minutes (30 miles)from the Los Angeles Port of Long Beach. Please look at our other offerings.
