I just purchased a Porsche 356 project in boxes. I need to make space in my shop and to fill spacein my bank account.Up for auction is a 1953 MG TD that I have been restoring for several years. While the body was in good condition, the wood was terrible and served only as patterns for a complete replacement. I have included a couple of pictures of the new wood after it was installed. All wood (except the that in the doors, which was good) was replaced with Western New York oak, hand cut by local Amishcarpenters. All metal was stripped bare, acid etched, primed and shot with four coats of Viper Red base coat and three coats of clear coat. The paint job looks good as is but should be color sanded and buffed to remove a few runs in the clear. The engine is recently rebuilt, starts immediately and runs beautifully. All new electrical wire. All brake shoes and cylinders have been replaced, brake drums are excellent. The wire wheels sport brand new tires and have been painted black to contrast the bright red body paint. The wheels are secured by new chrome knock offs. Windshield wiper motor is un-tested, but works manually. My grandchildren love to ride in my cars and I just didn't trust the original door latch system. The door latches have been replacedwith double latching bear claw latches. The original exterior door handles have remained, while the interior handles have been replaced with a more traditional looking handle. Please note: The car comes with top irons, a new top, a new tonneau cover, and new side curtain covers all of which need to be installed. There are no side curtain frames. The rear cover for the side curtain storage box is included, but not installed because I like the look of the natural wood. I have a transferable New York State registration in my name. If you are tired of seeing Barn Finds or Project Cars that have been pulled from fields at outrageous starting prices or those that have hidden reserve prices, this car may be for you. I restorecars to keep active and to have fun. Lets keep this fun. Please ask questions as all sales are final, no refunds, no returns. Bidders with less than five positive feedbacks must contact me before bidding.
