Up for auction is a very nice driver quality MG TD Mark II Competition Roadster. This MG was bought in California in the late 60's by the family of the present owner.A frame up restoration was completed in about 1969 and the car was us as a Sunday driver for several years then put away and only driven a cupule times a year after that. Always stored inside and well maintained. (Speedo shows 07701 miles.) The family has decided to sale as they seldom drive the car. This is the Mark IICompetition model with the XPAG more highly tuned engine using8.1:1 compression ratio giving 57bhp at 5,500 rpm. The TD MK II also featured twin fuel pumps, additional Andrex dampers, and a higher ratio rear-axle. The engine is the original "Numbers matching" #13826 andit runs strong. Only about 1700 Mark II Competition models were produced from 1950 to 1953. (Very rareMG)The car is showing some ageing, with a coupleof slight imperfections in the paint, and some ware on the edge of the lower seat bottoms not on the seats tops.Tires are older but look good. The car is done in it's original Pale Yellow paint with Tan interior. It has the matchingconvertible top, matching side windows that store in the back inside compartment, and cockpit cover, all in great condition. All chrome is very nice and it has wing windows off the wind screen, luggage rack at the rear, original owners manual & MG maintenance manual, all come with, also the wiper blades are stored in the glove box. The car drive nicely, but dose need some detailing to show better. This is a very nice MG TD Mark II that shows well as isand is a blast to drive.
