Description of 1972 MG MGB |
This 1972 MGB has been totally restored. It only had one previous owner. The owner died of cancer and the vehicle sat for 15 years. It was restored by a British Car restoration specialist. It is a manual 4-speed with overdrive. Here is a list of many ofthe items replaced: -new fuel tank -all electronics & hydraulics -new tires -newrims - new convertible top -new exhaust system - rebuilt radiator -new brake pads -new rotors -brake shoes -new trunk liner -new engine mounts -new battery -fan belts -carburetors -fuel tank sending unit...there's more, but by now you should get the idea that no stone was left unturned... In lieu of painting the vehicle, itwas wrapped with the highest quality 3m cast vinyl pre-cured filmed. It has an unlimitedlife expectancy providing the vehicle is garage kept. If kept outside on a permanent basis, it can begin to show age between 8-10 years. But if you are a true classic car enthusiast, hopefully you would not do that. Now, on the value and pricing of this vehicle- According to Hagerty a 1972 MGB in flawless (concours)condition (restored to a condition better than when it was originally came off the production line) it would be worth $21,000.In excellent condition Hagerty says the vehicle has a value of $15,000 and "Good" condition has a value as low as $6,700. Hagerty defines "Excellent" as "a vehicle that could win a regional car show. The flaws are only noticed by seasoned observers. Paint and chrome are in excellent condition. No excessive smoke when starting up or odd sounds. Avehicle that would drive as a new vehicle in its era would drive." Thisvehicle falls between "excellent" and "good".. but closer to "excellent". Consequently, I am pricing the vehicle at $9,900. Actually, much more was spent on restoring the vehicle than that amount. But some things are priceless... the joy of seeing a restoration process from start to finish. |
