Description of 1972 MG MGB |
1972 MGB 104K miles. clear title marked in excess of mechanical limits. restored and engine rebuilt around 4k miles around 2007. New tires. Numerous new parts when restored. A friend of mine went over the car with a paint thickness gauge and was reading .008-.016 with only one spot not reading, meaning some bondo. He said that the restoration must have used new fenders and metal since hardly any bondo in it. Car runs very good with good oil pressure as shown in pic and shifts good. four speed manual with NO overdrive compression test shows #1 121, #2 122, #3 122, and #4 121. Has a small drip from transmission. A good friend of mine has owned the car the past couple of years, had two MGB's, and his wife told him to clean out her side of the garage. So I ended up trading for it with the intention of reselling. Tach, speedometer, oil pressure gauge all work good. Temp gauge works at times. lights, tail lights, plate light and signals all work. Original seats with a taped rip in the drivers seat. Carpet still in good shape. Top is pretty good with a couple small rips as shown. New floorboards were put in, but some rust behind front tires underneath as shown. A few cracks in paint as shown. Bumpers and luggage rack in great condition. Single carb. I don't know much about these but he told me it was the "smaller" motor. I also have a totally rebuilt factory "big" 5 bolt motor. Was rebuilt and has not been on a car. Buyer has the option of buying for $1000, and if they don't want it I will list it on ebay after the sale of the car. Ask questions! Buyer must come to Lancaster Ohio and inspect the car. Cash or certified check. $500 deposit at end of auction on paypal.
