Description of 1952 MG T-Series

Up for auction is a 1952 MG TD. It is being sold at a very low starting price without reserve. This gives everyone the opportunity to own a real classic at a lower cost than most replicas. This is a rare right hand drive model. imported from India in the 1970’s. Restoration was started in the 1970’s and never completed. It has been in storage since that time. Upon the death of the original American owner the car was transferred to a relative. I purchased the car from that owner. Upon bringing the car home. I hot wired it. set up a temporary gas tank and it started immediately. The car drove well. steering was great. braking was terrible. The carburetors leaked very badly. I am including new carb gaskets. The body work was completed before I got the car. Of main interest is the fact that the body and door wood has been replaced. by what must have been a master metal worker. with steel tubing. I have included pictures of this feature in the doors and body. The doors are currently strapped to the body to show fit. They will need to be mounted. Hinges and latches are included. They will need restoration. The cowl wood is original and in good condition. I believe the rear fenders have been replaced with those of a 1953 MG TD. possibly NORS. The frame for the top is included. The hood and hood hardware are in really nice shape. bumpers are included but are not very good. The grille shell has been re-chromed. Windshield has a crack. Seats have been re-upholstered and are in good condition. Door upholstery panels are rough. but will serve as good patterns. The dash was missing when I got the car. I am including a new oak dash that will need to be finished. While most. if not all. of the brake parts are present. the brake system is not functioning and will need to be restored. Please note that the car is currently not running. cannot be driven home. will need restoration and comes with a bill of sale and not a title. All sales are final and there are no returns.
